Years back, this term was specially coined by a fashion magazine for a type of interior. However, later, the term was linked to clothing, fashion and lifestyle.

1) Pick right colors
Vintage has its own special color scheme. Nowadays, market is full with attractive colored and beautifully painted furniture.

You might see Mickey Mouse painted at the back of a kid chair or bat man on the computer table. They look good but they will really not compliment the vintage look you are trying to achieve. Find some old wooden furniture that is roughly aunt in light colors.

The paint might look cracked or torn from some spots. This is not actually cracked but it is painted that beautifully. Pick up some unique pieces out of them and see if they complement the look you want to achieve in your room.

2) Understand the theme
It is the most important thing that you should keep in mind while getting the shabby chic furniture. Understand the theme and the place where you want to keep this furniture.
